About Me

Welcome. Three years ago, my father sent me a link to Wendy Dewitt's nine short videos about food storage on YouTube. It changed my life. For the first time I could see how we could actually have and store a year supply of food and basic necessities for our family. I followed all her instructions and came up with this cookbook for our family. Many people have asked and even pleaded with me to make it available to others. After months of work, the cookbook is finished. The information and the eleven page shopping list in the back of this cookbook will provide you with exactly how much of every ingredient in every recipe that you will need for a year supply of food. I have even included how much water it takes to cook everything. It is written for a family of five to seven people. I hope this cookbook will bless your family as it has ours.

What is in this cookbook?

Wendy Dewitt has nine short videos explaining her food storage system.

A Special Thanks

                                  A Special Thanks

I just wanted to take a moment and give a special thanks to Wendy Dewitt who inspired me with her YouTube video.  She has an amazing food storage program.  I have embraced her teachings and applied them in our life.  We were like everyone else who had a desire to be obedient to the Lord's council to have a year supply of food and basic necessities but didn't know how to go about doing it.  We had wheat, rice and powdered milk.  Yet, I knew I couldn't make a meal with it if my life depended on it.  So I decided to search through all my recipes and put together this cookbook.  Months later, this is what I came up with.
Many people have asked and even pleaded with me to make it available to others.  I hope that this information will provide you with a good idea of just what it will take to have a one year supply of food for a family of five to seven people.

You will find simple recipes and a shopping list at the back of this cookbook.  There you will find just how much of every item in each recipe you will need for a year supply.  When you go to the grocery store, take the cookbook with the shopping list with you.  In the left column, you will see the name of each item in alphabetical order.  In the middle column, you can write in pencil what you have currently in your food storage.  In the right column, you will find just how much of each item you will need for a year supply.  Set a goal of having a three-month supply of everything you will need.  Then add to your supply until you have a six-month, nine-month and eventually a twelve-month supply.  This will keep all your supplies rotated so they don't expire all at once.

By following Wendy Dewitt's guidelines, you will save money and storage space.  After compiling this information for our family, I figured out exactly what we needed.  I did inventory of what I already had and found that I had purchased a six-and-a-quarter year's supply of rice.  It was taking up space and cost money that I could have spent for other needed items.  Now I know exactly what I need and how much.  Now my food storage is in proper proportions and that saves money and storage space in our home.

And last but not least, a heart-felt thanks to my husband who has supported the efforts to make this all possible for our family.  It gives us peace knowing we have done the Lord's will and the knowledge that we have claim on the promised blessings.
